Megan Liljenquist is a freelance illustrator and artist, with years of experience working on everything from logos and graphics, to children's books and murals. 

Unafraid to color between the lines of whimsy and realism, Megan’s artistic style showcases a subtle humor perfect for younger audiences. Playful textures, lighting, and movement add to a strong sense of visual story-telling. 

With an exciting freelance career well underway, she currently has four self-published titles with almost 3,000 copies sold worldwide.  She graduated with a Fine Arts degree from Arizona State University in 2010, and has spent much of her professional career working in positions to help give children of all ages access and education in art. Megan was awarded the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's National Services to Youth Award in 2016. 

Stories that span generations are of particular importance to her, and she continuously searches through history, nature, and mythology for inspiration. For her, these are the places where real world and fantasy come together. 

Megan lives with her husband and four children, plus a dog and the world's friendliest ball python. Out of the studio,  she prefers to be with her family either camping, hiking, or swimming. She enjoys games and extra ice in her drinks, but above all, she loves a good story.
